The stericlin® Batch Monitoring System complies with the DIN EN 867-5 standard and has been specially developed for batch control of sterilization with loading. The aluminium process challenge device (PCD) simulates hollow instruments that are difficult to sterilize. It contains a tube, the so-called helix, at the end of which the chemical indicator is placed in a plastic screw capsule. The test device is reusable.
The stericlin® Batch Monitoring System is easy to use and saves time and space:
- Place the indicator strip in the capsule
- Screw the capsule onto the test specimen (PCD)
- Carry out a sterilization program
- Remove test strips
- Check result
If steam penetration is complete, the indicator changes colour from blue to pink; if the colour change is incomplete, the sterilizer is malfunctioning.
Stericlin® indicators do not contain any heavy metals or toxic substances. Once the color change has taken place, the color of the indicator no longer changes. This gives you absolute documentation reliability.
The use of batch control systems for monitoring steam penetration is recommended by the Commission for Hospital Hygiene and Infection Prevention of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the Federal Office for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM), the German Society for Hospital Hygiene and the health authorities.
